Although the usability lacks of early speech dialog systems had been discussed in expert circles for quite some years, it took until the 2004 ‘study on acceptance and usability of speech applications’ to make this evident to the German scientific and industrial community. In this study, Peissner et al. (2004) had come up with a systematic and at the same time pragmatic approach to measuring acceptance and usability of existing speech dialog systems.
